As most players know all weapons have a base max damage. Here is the thing to think upon before you go out and pay hard earned gold for the "uber" weapon someone is selling in LA or one of the other major towns, concidering the rate of drops and where you are at the moment what is morte useful: a rare weapon that looks good, or a weapon that kills the type of monsters in the area you are in at the moment? Lots of players will try to flame this post. Don't bother I have been thinking on thios for a long time. The major difference between weapons is their skins, which to me no longer matters. I would now rather have a weapon that will do the job in each area than something useless that looks good.Most of the weapons in the game are customizeable to whatever you want it to be.Just buy the mods and get what you want.

seriously while there whill be a lot of people that will agree with you, there will be just as many disagree. The same can be said about armor. its just all in the players expierence as to which they would like for themselves. While yes essentially 15k armor = 1.5k armor in functionality, some users will want to have that different look that comes with a more expensive armor. same with weapons. this topic has been around for as long as guildwars has been live.

honestly i wouldnt expect this topic to remain open long.

To be honest with the inscription system added skin of weapon is the only thing that matters to me.

Uh wtf are you talking about...? You can buy a nice skin and mod it however you like... what do you think golds are fixed with 20/20 +30?

People are free to do what they wish.
I only buy a certain skin to suit the look of my character, not to stand out in some way, because I know the guy next to me cares more about how he looks than how I look!

I buy something just for me and my tastes.

I always make my own weapons. It's just a shame defensive mods are rarer than +30hp mods. 30 health comes and goes, but defense will stay for as long as the weapon is equipped.
